At Westside, we are committed to providing an inspirational, challenging and supportive environment which allows all of our students to reach their full potential, preparing them for life as happy, resilient, productive, capable and responsible citizens, with the capacity to create, or recognise and utilise opportunities that can enrich their futures.

Our mission is underpinned by our values, and the belief that that every child has a unique character, personality, strengths, and challenges, and that each child, whatever their background or prior circumstances, should be given a chance and opportunity to excel; background should not determine outcomes. Our fundamental purpose is to provide each of our pupils with excellent learning in every possible aspect.

We are a diverse and inclusive school with an ethos based on the belief that our capacity to fulfil our mission and to achieve the impact we intend is strengthened by working as one team, a team which comprises all stakeholders: pupils, staff, families, carers and the wider community. We know that working in partnership with others is the way to transform life chances, enabling children and young people to realise their dreams and aspirations.

Our wish is that our students leave knowing and understanding that they should treat others as equals, and upholding the values of integrity, honesty, tolerance and respect that they have learnt through their educational journey with us, a journey that ensures our students grow and develop holistically.
